FlexPen® should be used with NovoTwist® or NovoFine®
disposable needles. NovoTwist®, our 32G Tip needle, is the thinnest
needle available in the United States from Novo Nordisk.
The thickness of a needle is called its "gauge." The higher the gauge number, the
thinner the needle. (For example, a 32-gauge needle is thinner than a 30-gauge needle.)
In fact, 90% of people surveyed found the NovoFine® 30-gauge needle
to be practically pain-free. The needle recommended for FlexPen®
is an even thinner NovoTwist® 32G Tip needle.
How do you inject with NovoFine® or NovoTwist®?
The needle goes right into the fat underneath your skin. Your insulin will move
from the fat into your bloodstream. The NovoFine® 32G needle is 6 millimeters long, and the NovoTwist® 32G Tip needle is
only 5 millimeters long, to help you avoid injecting into muscle.
Needles are sold separately and may require a prescription in some states. Needles
and FlexPen® must not be shared.
